I'm currently working at Thumbtack developing new computer vision and machine learning algorithms.
Academic Work
I obtained my Ph.D in Computer Science at University of California, San Diego under the guidance of Professor Serge Belongie at the UCSD Computer Vision Lab.
Studies
I got my Engineering degree in Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science at University of Chile, working with Professor Ricardo Baeza-Yates and co-advised by Professor Nello Cristianini in information retrieval and machine learning.
Startups
Previously I was a Director of Engineering, Computer Vision and Media Technology at Set Media Inc., developing new computer vision algorithms for video content analysis. The startup was acquired by Conversant in 2014.
Interests
My work interests intersect the areas of machine learning and computer vision, startups and education. I'm particularly excited about developingand deploying machine learning algorithms to production that can bring value to startups, building teams and educating people about machine learning and computer vision.
